sherbet making

On Tuesday we were making sherbet. When we were making the sherbet we had to taste all the ingredients. The ingredients we had were, baking soda, tartaric acid, citric acid, refresh A.K.A orange flavored cordial. We also tasted icing sugar.The most yummiest thing we got to taste was the orange flavored cordial. The least favourite thing was the baking soda. When we added everything it tasted nice and it fizzed. When we put it in our mouth it fizzed because of the saliva we have in our mouth. It fizzed because the baking soda reacted with the citric acid and saliva in our mouth and had a chemical reaction.  It made Co2, which is carbon dioxide.
